Nighttime Closures on Southbound I-805 in Golden Triangle
SAN DIEGO –– Construction crews will close southbound Interstate 805 (I-805) from Interstate 5 (I-5) to La Jolla Village Drive/Miramar Road on Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m., according to Caltrans. The closures will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, Oct. 27 and 28, during the same hours to accommodate concrete pours as part of the I-805 North Express Lanes Project.
Motorists will be detoured around the closure to southbound I-5, then eastbound on State Route 52 (SR-52) to northbound or southbound I-805.
Stage 1 of the I-805 North Express Lanes Project is constructing one carpool lane in each direction in the median of I-805 from just north of SR-52 to just north of Mira Mesa Boulevard. The project includes construction of a Direct Access Ramp to and from southbound I-805 at Carroll Canyon Road. Bridge widening and ramp modifications are additional improvements. The construction cost for Stage 1 is about $86 million and is funded with state, federal and local sources, including the Proposition 1B State – Local Partnership Program and TransNet Extension funds.
