Northbound I-805 Closed Wednesday Night
SAN DIEGO – Crews will close northbound Interstate 805 (I-805) from La Jolla Village Drive/Miramar Road to Interstate 5 (I-5) Wednesday night at 9:30 until 5 in the morning, according to Caltrans. The closure is needed to pour concrete as part of ongoing improvements to accommodate new carpool lanes along I-805.
Detour signs will be placed directing northbound motorists onto westbound State Route 52 (SR-52) to northbound I-5 then onto northbound or southbound I-805. Travelers will be allowed to exit at Nobel Drive and Governor Drive.
Construction schedules are subject to change depending on the weather conditions.
Stage 1 of the I-805 North Express Lanes Project will construct one carpool lane in each direction in the median of I-805 from SR-52 to Mira Mesa Boulevard. The project also includes construction of a Direct Access Ramp to and from southbound I-805 at Carroll Canyon Road. Additional improvements include bridge widening and ramp modifications.
