Night Closures on Southbound I-15 Express Lanes
SAN DIEGO –– Caltrans advises motorists that crews will close the southbound Interstate (I-15) Express Lanes between State Route 78 (SR-78) and Del Lago Boulevard for three consecutive nights beginning Monday at 9 until 5 in the morning.
Also closed during this time period is the southbound I-15 access to the Hale Avenue Direct Access Ramp. Crews will shut down two of the five southbound I-15 main lanes between Citracado Parkway and Del Lago Boulevard.
The closures are needed to install electronic signs which will provide motorists with traffic flow messaging.
These improvements are part of the I-15 Express Lanes Project on which new Rapid services run to provide more travel choices for motorists. Rapid provides high-frequency, limited-stop MTS bus service with increased reliability and convenience, similar to the services of a light rail system.
