Nighttime Closures Planned For Southbound I-805 at I-5
SAN DIEGO –– Construction crews will close southbound Interstate 805 (I-805) from the Interstate 5/I-805 merge to La Jolla Village Drive Monday–Thursday nights from 9:30 until 5 in the morning.
The closures are needed so that crews can continue placing falsework, a temporary bridge support system used during bridge construction, for the I-805 North Express Lanes Project.
Motorists on southbound I-805 will be detoured to southbound I-5, to eastbound SR-52, to northbound or southbound I-805.
Stage 1 of the I-805 North Express Lanes Project will construct one carpool lane in each direction in the median of I-805 from SR-52 to Mira Mesa Boulevard. The project also includes construction of a Direct Access Ramp to and from southbound I-805 at Carroll Canyon Road. Additional improvements include bridge widening and ramp modifications. This stage is estimated to cost approximately $86 million.
Project information is available at KeepSanDiegoMoving.com/I-805-Corridor or by calling the Project Hotline at (877) 821-4280. Follow https://twitter.com@SDCaltrans and visit https://www.facebook.com/CaltransDistrict11 to keep current on transportation information.
Motorists are reminded to Be Work Zone Alert and to Move Over a lane when safe to do so, or slow when highway workers are present with amber lights flashing.
