All Southbound I-15 Motorists will be Detoured off at Mira Mesa Boulevard to Remove Falsework

SAN DIEGO – Caltrans crews will resume removing the temporary construction falsework from under the southbound Interstate 15 (I-15) bridge at Mira Mesa Boulevard Tuesday through Monday, April 28 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., excluding Friday and Saturday.    The work will require a full closure of the southbound lanes as well as the Express Lanes in both directions.  The southbound Mira Mesa Boulevard on-ramps will also be closed.

The Express Lanes between Carroll Canyon Road and Mira Mesa Boulevard will close at 8 p.m.  Crews will close the southbound lanes in stages starting at 9 p.m. with a full closure of the lanes at 11 p.m.  All lanes will be re-opened no later than 5 a.m.

All southbound motorists will be detoured to the  Mira Mesa Boulevard off-ramp and turn right,  at Black Mountain Road turn left, continue south to Carroll Canyon Road and turn left  to the southbound I-15 on-ramp.  For city street motorists east of I-15 on Mira Mesa Boulevard, go south on Scripps Ranch Boulevard until the road turns east to Carroll Canyon Road, then turn right to the southbound I-15 on-ramp.  Detour signs will be placed to direct motorists around the closure.

The Direct Access Ramp along with the new Miramar College Transit Station, which is also under construction, will link to the I-15 Express Lanes via Hillery Drive.  This will be the fifth DAR constructed along the I-15 Corridor and will support future Rapid Transit service beginning the summer.  Construction of the DAR and transit station is scheduled to be completed later this year.
