Pavement Work on SR-94 Set to Resume
SAN DIEGO – Warmer spring weather will allow Caltrans to resume a pavement rehabilitation project on a portion of State Route 94 (SR-94) in the community of Jamul. Construction crews will restart the project on Thursday, April 3 continue through the end of April, weather permitting. Minor traffic delays through the area are expected.
Crews will be working on SR-94 from State Route 54 to just east of Melody Road weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. No weekend work is expected. Construction work is expected to take place on different section of the highway each week. Most of the closures will require one-way traffic control. Changeable Message Signs are in place throughout the work area to notify residents and business owners of the project.
Motorists should expect short delays of up to 10 minutes on portions of State Route 94 (SR-94) for about the next two weeks, weekdays only, starting Monday morning as work continues on a pavement rehabilitation project.
The pavement work is temperature sensitive and it was suspended in late December in anticipation of colder temperatures. The work is needed to extend the life expectance of the pave and provide a smoother ride. Caltrans would like to thank motorists, residents and business owners for their patience during construction.
