Noisy Night Work on Cabrillo Bridge Monday through Wednesday

SAN DIEGO –Caltrans advises businesses and residents near the Cabrillo Bridge (Laurel Street Overcrossing) at Balboa Park that noisy night work will take place on the bridge deck Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from midnight to 10 a.m.

Crews will sawcut and jackhammer concrete utility casings during this time as a part of the ongoing $38 million Cabrillo Bridge Retrofit and Rehabilitation Project.

The work is scheduled to accommodate sequencing needs and to coordinate multiple contractors requiring access to the bridge deck.  It is important to perform the work at this time to avoid future construction delays.

Pedestrian access across the bridge will remain open and available.

Caltrans apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks affected residents and businesses in advance for their cooperation during construction.  Caltrans and the City of San Diego are working diligently to complete the project this summer in plenty of time for the Balboa Park 2015 Centennial Celebration.
