I-5/SR-56 Connector Closures Saturday Morning

SAN DIEGO – Caltrans maintenance crews will close two freeway connectors for guardrail repairs, Saturday morning from 3-7.

The first closure is on the southbound Interstate 5 (I-5) connector to eastbound State Route 56 (SR-56)/Carmel Valley Road. Motorists will be detoured to continue on southbound I-5 to the Carmel Mountain Road off-ramp, go left; take the northbound I-5 onramp from Carmel Mountain road, and continue on northbound I-5 to eastbound SR-56.

The second closure is on the southbound I-5 connector to the southbound I-5 Local Bypass. Detour signs will be posted directing traffic to continue on southbound I-5, to the southbound I-5 mainlines.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and safely move over a lane when Caltrans or other emergency vehicles are displaying flashing amber lights…it’s the law!
