Caltrans Conducts Traffic Counts Across the County
SAN DIEGO – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) in partnership with the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) will conduct traffic counts at various freeway locations across San Diego County beginning this week through June. SANDAG gathers traffic count data every five years for analysis to determine current traffic volumes and potential growth used in future planning.
On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m., motorists may see personnel in vests and hard hats sitting or standing alongside the freeways while manually counting vehicles on electronic count boards.
Motorists are reminded to drive alertly and not to be distracted by the traffic count teams alongside the freeways.
