Traffic Studies at San Ysidro Port of Entry Begin Monday

SAN DIEGO – Crews will conduct traffic studies on Interstate 5 and interstate 805 near the San Ysidro Port of Entry beginning Monday, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). Work hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. for ten consecutive days. The data collected will support the State Route 11/Otay Mesa East Highway/Port of Entry development project.

During this time period, motorists may see personnel in vests and hard hats sitting or standing alongside the freeway electronically counting and classifying vehicles.

Motorists are reminded to drive alertly and not to be distracted by the traffic study teams.
