Caltrans Conducts Traffic Studies at Otay Mesa Port of Entry

SAN DIEGO – Contractors for the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will conduct traffic studies on northbound and southbound State Route 905 near the Otay Mesa Port of Entry beginning Friday. Work hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. for ten consecutive days. The data collected will support the State Route 11/Otay Mesa East Highway/Port of Entry development project.

During this time period, motorists may see personnel in vests and hard hats sitting or standing alongside the freeway while manually counting and classifying vehicles.

Motorists are reminded to drive alertly and not to be distracted by the traffic study teams.
