Public Hearing for the I-5 North Coast Corridor Project
SAN DIEGO – San Diego residents interested in learning more about the development of the Interstate 5 North Coast Corridor (I-5 NCC) project are invited to a public meeting hosted by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). The meeting is on Wednesday, Sept. 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the city of Encinitas Community and Senior Center, 1140 Oakcrest Park Drive, Encinitas, CA 92024.
The meeting will provide additional information on lagoon studies that were not final during the circulation of the I-5 NCC Draft Environmental Impact Report/Environmental Impact Statement (EIR/EIS) in 2010.
During the open house meeting the public will review maps and diagrams that are part of the I-5NCC Supplemental Draft EIR/EIS. Caltrans design engineers, environmental planners, and other project staff will be available to discuss community concerns. This document acknowledges Caltrans’ Locally Preferred Alternative (8+4 with buffer). The I-5 NCC Project proposes improvements to the highway through the incorporated coastal cities of northern San Diego County from the city of San Diego to the city of Oceanside.
