Chicano Park Murals Restoration

WHO:

California Department of Transportation (Caltrans)Project Manager Ismael Salazar, Chicano Park Steering Committee Chairperson Ms. Tommie Camarillo and artists of Chicano Park murals.

WHAT:

Caltrans will announce the completion of the $1.6 million federal Transportation Enhancement Act funded mural restoration project within Chicano Park.

WHEN:

Tuesday, Aug. 21 from 11:30 a.m. - Noon.

WHERE:

Near the intersection of National Avenue and Dewey Street in San Diego.

This media availability will highlight the completion of the restoration of 18 murals within Chicano Park. The federal grant was administered by Caltrans. Display boards featuring before and after images of the murals will be made available.

All participants will be available for Spanish language interviews.
