Long-Term Closure Scheduled On Hovley Road in Brawley

BRAWLEY – Construction crews will close Hovley Road from Fredricks Road to just south of proposed State Route 78 (SR-78) for three months beginning Wednesday at 7 a.m., according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).

Signs will be posted directing motorists to detour using Brandt Road as follows:

· From Hovley Road north of the closure, take Andre Road west to Brandt Road.
· From North Western Avenue south of the closure, take westbound SR-86 to Brandt Road.

The closure is needed to construct an intersection at Hovley Road and the new SR-78 as part of the SR-78/SR-111 Brawley Bypass Project. The project is scheduled for completion in 2013.
