Long-Term Closure Planned for State Route 905 Ramp

SAN DIEGO – The ramp from westbound State Route 905 (SR-905) to southbound Interstate 805 (I-805) will be closed for about a month starting Wednesday, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).

This work is part of the widening of the SR-905/I-805 interchange that is nearing completion. During the closure, motorists will be detoured to northbound I-805 to Palm Avenue then to southbound I-805.

This closure will allow crews to widen the ramp to accommodate the future SR-905 extension that will build a six-lane freeway from I-805 to the Otay Mesa Port of Entry.

On Tuesday, Jan. 17 construction crews will reopen the ramp from northbound I-805 to eastbound SR-905 to traffic.

Motorists are reminded to drive alertly and to move over a lane when highway workers are present.
