Time Change for Interstate 15 Express Lanes Directional Switch
SAN DIEGO – Changing the direction traffic travels on the reversible Interstate 15 (I-15) Express Lanes between State Route 163 (SR-153) and State Route 56 (SR-56) will take place 1.5 hours earlier each weekday morning starting this Monday.
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced the time change today. The Express Lanes will close to southbound traffic at 10 a.m., instead of 11:30 a.m., and reopen to northbound traffic by about noon, instead of 1 p.m. The Express Lanes will now also remain in the northbound direction over the weekends.
This schedule change will facilitate the completion of South Segment construction on the I-15 Express Lanes Project. The early morning opening of the Express Lanes to southbound traffic by 5 a.m. will remain the same. For more information on the I-15 Express Lanes Project, call the project information hotline at (866) 890-1397 or log-on to www.KeepSanDiegoMoving.com.
