Man Seriously Injured at Caltrans Work Site
SAN DIEGO – A male sub-contracted worker at a native habitat restoration site near the San Luis Rey River suffered a serious injury this afternoon, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). He was stabilized at the scene by co-workers and transferred by emergency personnel to Palomar Hospital. He is reported to be in stable condition.

The non-native vegetation removal is locally known as the Morrison Mitigation Project and is in year one of a five year $2.2 million contract. In 2008, Caltrans paid $4.8 million for the site which encompasses at total of 136 acres.
