WHAT: Officials from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and the California Highway Patrol (CHP) will host a news conference to honor the lives of three fallen Caltrans maintenance workers and to call for safer and slower driving around highway work zones.

WHY: Three Caltrans Highway Workers have died in the line of duty in 48 days. Speakers want to help raise awareness about highway worker and motorists safety through the "Slow for the Cone Zone" public awareness campaign and discuss law enforcement around highway work zones.

VISUALS: Specialty safety vehicles used by area maintenance staff will be on display.
