Funeral Service Planned For Mr. Jaime Obeso
SAN DIEGO – Funeral service for long-time Caltrans District 11 maintenance employee Jaime Obeso is planned for Friday, June 17, starting at 9 a.m. at the Imperial Valley Expo, Casa de Manana Building, 200 East 2nd St. in the city of Imperial, Imperial County. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery, 201 East Gillett Road in the city of El Centro.
Mr. Obeso passed away Tuesday afternoon after being struck by an errant motorist while he was working along a stretch of Interstate 8 near the Sunbeam Rest Area. The driver was arrested on charges that include gross vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run.
Mr. Obeso, 53, started his state career with Caltrans nearly 22 years ago and was most recently a Leadworker with the El Centro Travelway crew. He is survived by his wife, Maria, and two adult children, Ida and Jaime Jr.
