Southbound Interstate 15 Closed at Carroll Canyon Road For Two Nights
SAN DIEGO – Southbound Interstate 15 (I-15) at Carroll Canyon Road will be closed this Tuesday and Wednesday night beginning at 11 and reopening at 5 the following morning, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
Motorists traveling south on I-15 will be detoured to the Carroll Canyon Road off-ramp, across the intersection and to the on-ramp back to southbound I-15. Detour signs will be posted to direct motorists around the closure.
The Carroll Canyon Road bridge over I-15 will also be closed during this time. Motorists traveling east on Carroll Canyon Road will be detoured to north on Black Mountain Road to east on Mira Mesa Boulevard to south on Scripps Ranch Boulevard onto Carroll Canyon Road. Motorists traveling west on Carroll Canyon Road will be detoured to north on Scripps Ranch Boulevard to west on Mira Mesa Boulevard to south on Black Mountain Road onto Carroll Canyon Road. Detour signs will be in place to direct motorists.
These closures allow crews to erect temporary bridge support beams necessary to continue construction on the south side of the Carroll Canyon Road bridge. Bridge construction may cause noise but must be done at night to minimize disruptions to traffic.
