Full Closure Continues on Best Road in Brawley
SAN DIEGO – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced today that recent heavy rains will delay the reopening of Best Road in Brawley. The closure extends from Shank Road to just south of Brawley Beef. Best Road is now expected to reopen within two weeks.
Highway construction crews are constructing a new intersection at Best Road as part of the ongoing construction on the State Route-78/SR-111 Brawley Bypass Project.
The detour route for motorists northbound the detour for motorists northbound is to take Main Street to northbound SR-111 and right on Shank Road back to Best Road. Southbound motorists will use the same route in the opposite direction.
Workers will place detour signs to assist motorists around the closures.
