Portions of Northbound State Route 163 and Interstate 15 Closed Saturday Night
SAN DIEGO – Portions of northbound State Route (SR-163) and Interstate 15 (I-15) will be closed this Saturday from 11:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Northbound SR-163 will be closed from Kearny Villa Road to I-15, and northbound I-15 will be closed between Miramar/Pomerado Road and Carroll Canyon Road, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
This closure will allow for construction crews to install a large overhead sign without disrupting the weekday commute. There will be multiple detours in place to direct motorists.
- Express Lanes Detour: Northbound traffic on SR-163 and I-15 wishing to travel to or past Ted Williams Parkway/SR-56 (SR-56) will be able to enter the northbound I-15 Express Lanes and will not be allowed to exit until Ted Williams Parkway/SR-56.
- Non-Express Lanes Detour for Northbound SR-163 Traffic: Motorists wishing to access I-15 exits south of Ted Williams Parkway/SR-56 and north of the I-15/SR-163 spilt will be detoured to the Kearny Villa Road off-ramp, travel north to Miramar Road, Carroll Canyon Road, or eastbound Mira Mesa Boulevard to I-15.
- Non-Express Lanes Detour for Northbound I-15 Traffic: Motorists wishing to access exits south of Ted Williams Parkway/SR-56 and north of Miramar/Pomerado Road will be detoured to the Miramar/Pomerado Road off-ramp, travel west to northbound Kearny Villa Road to Carroll Canyon Road, or eastbound Mira Mesa Boulevard to I-15.
