SR-56 Water Conservation Project Low Bidder Announced
SAN DIEGO – This summer the California Department of Transportation will begin construction on a Recycled Water Conversion project on State Route 56. The apparent low bidder on this project is Pacific Restoration Group from Perris, CA.
The project proposes to convert the existing irrigation systems along SR-56 at Black Mountain Road, Salmon River Road and Rancho Renasquitos Boulevard from potable water to recycled water for a bid amount of $423,722. It will connect to the city of San Diego’s 24-inch recycled water pipeline located at Black Mountain Road when it crosses the route. Once complete, 92 acres of landscaping will use recycled water instead of potable water.
