Day Work Continues on State Route 78 Near Glamis

IMPERIAL VALLEY – Motorists may experience minor delays along State Route 78 (SR-78) between Gecko Road and the Union Pacific Railroad Crossing in Glamis as crews continue paving work on Monday, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).

Crews are expected to replace existing asphalt on Thursday and Friday at the intersection of SR-78 and the San Diego State University Driveway, both east and west intersections of SR-78 and SR-115, and the intersection at SR-78 and SR-111.

On the week of May 11, crews will begin sealing the asphalt along the entire project from SR-111 to the Union Pacific Railroad Crossing.

Work will take place weekdays between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.  One-way traffic control will be placed in two-mile segments for the duration of the project.

Motorists are advised to drive cautiously in work areas and allow extra time for travel.
