Work May Cause Delays on State Route 78 Near Glamis
BRAWLEY – Motorists traveling on State Route 78 (SR-78) between Gecko Road and the Union Pacific Railroad Crossing in Glamis can expect delays this week between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. as crews continue work to lay pavement on Monday, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
A Caltrans pilot vehicle will be in place to guide traffic through one way traffic control set in two-mile segments. Delays are expected to be kept at a minimum but could be as long as 15 minutes.
The work is part of a project to repair and seal the pavement on SR-78 between SR-111 and Glamis. The project is expected to be complete in early June.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their commute and to Slow for the Cone Zone.
