Work May Cause Delays on State Route 78 Near Glamis
SAN DIEGO – Motorists traveling on State Route 78 (SR-78) between Gecko Road and the Union Pacific Railroad Crossing in Glamis can expect delays this week between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. as crews work to seal the pavement beginning Monday, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
The work will involve closing one lane at a time in two-mile segments. Traffic will be delayed for a maximum of 15 minutes behind work crews on Monday. One-way traffic control will be in effect Tuesday through Friday.
The work is part of a project to repair and seal the pavement on SR-78 between SR-86 and Glamis Road. The project is expected to be complete in early June.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their commute and to watch for highway workers.
