Apparent Low Bid for Bridge Maintenance Project on Interstate 5
SAN DIEGO – Various bridges along Interstate 5 between the Birmingham Drive overcrossing and Cristianitos Road will soon be scheduled for preventative maintenance. Workers will replace joint seals and apply a sealant overcoat, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
Penhall Co. of Anaheim submitted the apparent low bid of $1.2 million for Caltrans review and approval. Once approved, the five month project could begin by June. Work will take place mainly at night with a minimum disruption to traffic.
