Southbound Interstate 15 Closed Thursday Morning

SAN DIEGO – Southbound Interstate 15 (I-15) will be closed from the I-15/SR-163 split to State Route 52 (SR-52) on Thursday from 12:30 a.m. – 4:30 a.m. weather permitting. This new closure will replace the previously scheduled closure of State Route 163 (SR- 163) from the I-15/SR-163 split to Kearny Villa Road on Wednesday from 11 p.m. – 5 a.m., according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).

This closure will allow construction crews to re-stripe lanes. Motorists traveling south on I-15 will be detoured to south on SR-163, to west on State Route 52 (SR-52) to south on Convoy Street to east on SR-52 onto southbound I-15. Detour signs will be in place to direct motorists.
