Interstate 15 Weekend Ramp Closures Rescheduled
SAN DIEGO – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced that the closure of the southbound Interstate 15 (I-15) on-ramps from Ted Williams Parkway/State Route 56 (SR-56) scheduled for this weekend has been cancelled due to the weather. This closure is rescheduled for next weekend starting December 18 at 10 p.m. and reopening on December 21 at 5 a.m. weather permitting.
Motorists traveling to I-15 south from Ted Williams Parkway/SR-56 will be detoured to north on I-15 to west on Carmel Mountain Road onto southbound I-15. Detour signs will be posted to direct motorists around the closures.
The SR-56 entrance to the southbound I-15 Express Lanes will also be closed during this time. Motorists can access the I-15 Express Lanes from the Sabre Springs Direct Access Ramp.
This weekend closure is necessary to pave the ramps without disrupting the weekday commute. This work is part of the ongoing I-15 Express Lanes project. For more information on the I-15 Express Lanes project, call the project information hotline at (866) 890-1397 or log-on to www.KeepSanDiegoMoving.com.
