State Route 111 to Close at Shank Road
SAN DIEGO – Crews will close a one-mile section of State Route 111 (SR-111) between Adler Street and Shank Road on Thursday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., to lower and remove bridge falsework, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
The work is part of the ongoing construction on the $ 226.5 million SR-78/SR-111 Brawley Bypass Project.
Motorists on SR-78/Main Street or northbound on Old Route 111 can access northbound SR-111 by taking Best Road to the north, and then turn left to westbound on Shank Road and right onto northbound SR-111. Motorists southbound on SR-111 can use the same detour route in the opposite direction.
Signs will be in place to advise motorists of the closure and detour routes.
