Construction Begins Monday on Poway Road/Rancho Penasquitos Boulevard Bridge Over Interstate 15
SAN DIEGO – Construction on Poway Road/Rancho Penasquitos Boulevard Bridge over Interstate 15 (I-15) will begin on Monday night as part of the ongoing I-15 Express Lanes Project, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
Motorists are advised that construction workers will place temporary concrete barriers along the north side of the bridge, which will eliminate one eastbound lane and shift traffic to the south. This change is necessary to begin bridge demolition work on the north side of the bridge. Construction of the Poway Road/Rancho Penasquitos Boulevard Bridge will last approximately two years. This portion of construction is part of the south segment of the I-15 Express Lanes project. The south segment will be completed at the end of 2012. Caltrans will make every effort to minimize disruption during construction. For more information on the I-15 Express Lanes project, call the project information hotline at (866) 890-1397 or log-on to www.KeepSanDiegoMoving.com.
