Intermittent Ramp Closures on Interstate 8 and State Route 163 Wednesday and Thursday Night
SAN DIEGO – Intermittent ramp closures are planned for Wednesday and Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. along both directions of Interstate 8 (I-8) between I-5 and Texas Street, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). Intermittent ramp closures will also take place on northbound State Route 163 (SR-163) between Washington Street and Friars Road during the same time period.
The series of closures are expected to take 30 minutes per location and are necessary to prepare the roadway for new paving over the next six weeks. Motorists will be detoured to the next on- or off-ramp for the duration of each closure.
Motorists are asked to use caution when driving in construction areas.
