Traffic Delays Expected on SR-76
SAN DIEGO –Portions of State Route 76 (SR-76), east of Interstate 15 (I-15) to Rice Canyon Road, will intermittently close weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through mid-June, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
Starting Thursday Granite Construction is permitted to close the route and traffic delays are expected. Morning delays may be up to 45 minutes, while afternoon delays should be no longer than 25 minutes. Message signs are in place prior to the closure to alert motorists. Caltrans and California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials will be on hand to monitor the work and potential traffic delays.
“We hope to have the route operating back to normal as soon as possible,”
said Granite Construction Senior Project Manager Gary Nolan. “We will work closely with Caltrans and CHP officers to ensure the route remains safe during the course of the work.”
Drivers with questions should contact Granite Construction at (760) 775-7500.
Once the closures are complete Granite Constriction will widen the route from two lanes to four lanes within the work zone, approximately 1.3 miles.
Closure times within the work window are likely to change daily. Motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly and add extra time to their commute.# # # #
