Traffic Shifts Into Newly Constructed Lanes
On Southbound Interstate 15 in the Rancho Bernardo Area

SAN DIEGO –For three consecutive nights beginning on Monday, March 24, construction crews will be shifting the Interstate 15 (I-15) southbound traffic lanes right, in stages, into the recently constructed southbound lanes. The shift will move traffic into the main southbound lanes between Rancho Bernardo Road and Carmel Mountain Road, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).

On Thursday morning the lane shift will be completed from the median lanes to the southbound lanes and all affected on- and off-ramps will be open. Detours will be posted during the construction. Work crews will then be able to complete the construction on the Direct Access Ramp, which is a structure that will provide access to the new express lanes.

Construction of the I-15 Managed Lanes Middle Segment is expected to be completed at the end of 2008. For updated information on the I-15 Managed Lanes Project call the Hotline at 866-890-1397.
