One-Way Traffic Control Slated for State Route 79 at Paso Picacho Camp Ground

SAN DIEGO –Construction crews will begin work to replace drainage culverts and repair erosion caused by rainstorm flooding on a one-mile segment of State Route 79 near the Paso Picacho Campground in Cuyamaca State Park on Monday, March 10. One-way traffic controls will be in effect on weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. through July 15, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced today.

One lane will remain open during construction while work is done on the opposite lane.  Steel plates will be placed to cover the excavated area nights and weekends.

Changeable message signs will be placed in advance to advise motorists of the closure.  Motorists can expect brief delays and should allow a little extra time when traveling during the hours of construction.

Caltrans also reminds motorists to watch for highway workers and use caution when traveling through the work area.
