In the 2006-07 fiscal year, Caltrans plans to deliver 286 projects worth $2.3 billion. Last year, Caltrans delivered 173 out of 174 projects on time.

Stage 2 of the Brawly Bypass Project is Ready to List
Imperail County , Calif., June 27, 2007 –The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is please to announce that Stage 2 of the Brawley Bypass, from approximately Main Street to near Hovely Road on State Route 111 (SR-111), is Ready to List. This means that this Stage of the project has cleared the necessary approvals to advertise. It includes having all permits, agreements, appropriate Right of Way certification and Federal Transportation Improvement Program approval.
“We are right on schedule, said Project Manager Mario Orso. “We should start construction late this year or early next.”
The Brawley Bypass project is an eight mile four-lane divided expressway from State Route 86 (SR-86) north of the city of Brawley to 1.5 miles south of the eastern junction of SR-111 and State Route 78. The project is being constructed in three stages. The first Stage on SR-111 from Mead Road to Main Street was completed in 2005. The overall cost of the project is $201 Million.
