Motorists Urged to Keep Roadways Clear

SAN DIEGO –The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and the California Highway Patrol (CHP) are asking county residents and visitors to stay indoors and avoid driving on the freeways in order to keep roads clear for fire evacuees and emergency vehicles.

“Please show consideration for residents, emergency personnel and disaster relief workers by avoiding unnecessary trips today on the freeways,” said Caltrans District 11 Director Pedro Orso-Delgado. “As always, please cooperate with any official closing a road or directing traffic. They are working to keep you safe, as well as other motorists and emergency service workers.”
