Interstate 8 Closed in Imperial County
SAN DIEGO – The California Department of Transportation and the California Highway Patrol has closed all lanes of traffic on Interstate 8 in Imperial County from Drew Road to In-Ko-Pah Road, due to high winds and low visibility. The lanes will remain closed indefinitely until weather permits. All vehicles are being rerouted back from Drew Road and In-Ko-Pah Road.
Motorists who normally drive this route are encouraged to wait out the severe weather. Information about the closure can be accessed from the California Highway Infiormtion Network at 1-800-427-ROAD (7623) or online at www.dot.ca.gov.
