Southbound Lane on Interstate 15 to Open Friday Morning

SAN DIEGO – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) highway construction is preparing for the opening of an additional lane on southbound Interstate 15 (I-15), between Camino Del Norte and State Route 56 (SR-56)/Ted Williams Parkway.

Construction crews will close the two right lanes tonight at 8 and reopen the two lanes plus the new lane Friday morning at 5. In addition, the southbound on- and off-ramps between Camino Del Norte to SR-56/Ted Williams Parkway will be closed during the work. Please note that ramps will not be closed concurrently.

The new lane is expected to be a timesaver. “Last week we opened an extra lane between Via Rancho Parkway and Rancho Bernardo Road, which has saved motorists an average of 10 minutes during their commutes,” said Thomas Bouquin, I-15 Corridor Manager.
