SR-52 Construction Contract Awarded

SAN DIEGO – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has awarded a $3.5 million contract to Hazard Construction Co. to extend the existing westbound truck-climbing lane on State Route 52.

The lane is being extended from Mast Boulevard to the Santo Road interchange in San Diego. The project will help reduce congestion on the corridor.  This is the first of several construction projects planned for the corridor.

Construction is expected to be completed in late 2007.
