Weekend Ramp Closures Planned on I-5 National City
SAN DIEGO – Crews will replace sections of roadway on Interstate 5 (I-5) in National City this weekend, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
Caltrans will close the following three ramps:
- Northbound Mile of Cars Way/Bay Marina on-ramp
- Northbound Harbor Drive off-ramp
- Southbound Mile of Cars Way/Bay Marina off-ramp
The ramps will closed Friday, Sept. 29 at 10 p.m. and will reopen to traffic on Monday, Oct. 1 at 5 a.m.
Signs will be in place to assist motorists around the closures. Caltrans is asking motorists to allow a little extra time in planning their weekend commutes and to be prepared for possible delays.
The work is part of the $9.6 million project to add auxiliary lanes between Mile of Cars and Harbor Drive in I-5.
