Interstate 15 Off-ramp at West Bernardo Road
Set for Week-long Closure For Falsework Erection
SAN DIEGO – The off-ramp of the southbound Interstate 15 (I-15) at West Bernardo Drive will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. beginning Monday (7/31) through Thursday (8/3). This closure will be repeated on Friday, Aug. 4 if needed. The closure is called in order for work crews to install falsework that will support the construction of the Highland Valley Road Overcrossing, also known as the Pomerado Road Bridge.
Motorists who normally use this exit will be directed to use the next off-ramp at Rancho Bernardo Road. After existing the freeway, motorists can turn right at the end of the ramp and get onto West Bernardo Road.
“We normally don’t close lanes and ramps during daytime hours on this project,” said Gustaf Silva, assistant Resident Engineer, “but this closure is a bit out of the ordinary in that the contractor needs this window of time to install the metal and wooden skeleton that’s critical to the work.”
