The GIS/Project Development Support Branch serves as the District's focal point for all GIS activities. The Branch brings together the expertise of civil engineers, research program specialists, and transportation planners in providing a wide range of technical capabilities and project related experience. Branch responsibilities include the following:

•	Data acquisition and development
•	Maintain the District's GIS data library
•	Integrate GIS software technology and data into CADD applications
•	Perform GIS software analytical functions on a project/study specific basis to improve project delivery capabilities
•	The development of data/information delivery and analysis tools
•	Develop Web-based GIS solutions
•	Provide user support for District end users
•	Develop and maintain partnerships within the GIS community
•	Coordinate with Headquarters Division of Transportation System Information (TSI) - Office of GIS regarding Statewide Enterprise GIS related activities
