Caltrans District 11 Construction Department
serves the transportation needs of San Diego and Imperial
Counties. There are 67 Projects totaling over $591 Million
of Highway Contracts currently under construction in District
11.
The Consultant Services Unit (CSU) generally
initiates and manages Consultant contracts such as Architectural
& Engineering (ON- Call & Project Specific) Contracts
and Service Contracts.
The Division of Environmental Analysis acts
as the Department compliance lead and assists the Districts
and our transportation partners.
Caltrans Maintenance Division is responsible
for the maintaining of more than 1,000 centerline miles of
highways and freeways in San Diego and Imperial Counties.
The Planning Division
of District 11 serves a critical role for our Department and
the State in the development of a long-term transportation
vision which supports our other Divisions in areas of project
selection, project delivery, and system operations.
Right of Way administers the statewide program
for right of way acquisition and real property management
in support of Caltrans' purpose, mission, vision and goals.
The San Diego Transportation Management Center
(TMC) integrates Caltrans Traffic Operations, Caltrans Maintenance,
and CHP Communications in a unified, co-located communication
and command center. The San Diego TMC is the "first fully
co-located TMC in the State."
The Local Assistance Program helps Local
and Regional Agencies achieve efficient, effective, and timely
delivery of transportation projects in accordance with State
and Federal requirements.
