August 25 -SR188 Notice of Availability of the Environmental
Document and Public Hearing/Notice of Intent to
Adopt a Proposed Mitigated Negative Declaration
for the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility.
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is proposing to construct a new Commercial Vehicle
Enforcement Facility (CVEF) in Tecate. The facility will be operated by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and
will include office space, truck scale, inspection bays, paving for truck circulation within the CVEF, and parking. In
addition, to the proposed CVEF there will be operational improvements at the intersection of SR-188 and Thing Road.
