Bidders are cautioned that subsequent responses or contract addenda may affect or vary a response previously given.

BIDDER'S INQUIRY FORMAT


Caltrans District 11 Construction Department has developed this method of answering Bidder's Inquiries to better serve the needs of the Contractors who bid on our Projects. Only when stated in the Special Provisions will contracts have posted INQUIRIES AND RESPONSES.
The BIDDER'S INQUIRIES & RESPONSES will be updated continuously and all attempts will be made to do the final posting by 15:00 on Wednesday prior to the bid opening.
Caltrans District 11 Construction Department will post all of the questions submitted by any of the contractors that are registered Planholders for that Contract, but reserves the right to not answer any questions deemed unsatisfactory for public viewing.

Plan Sheet / Specification Reference=Items 5 and 6, Special Provisions  Section 10-1.08 4th paragraph, Plan sheet Q-1, L-1, L-2, C1 through C-4.

The call-outs for rail types on L-1 and L-2 and Details C-1 to C-4 are contradictory to the Contract items and the Quantity Table on Q-1. Please note the details for construction including traffic control for areas without walkways are significantly different for constructing the work per plan sheet Q-1.

  • In accordance with Section 5-1.04 COORDINATION AND INTERPRETATION OF PLANS, STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS, AND SPECIAL PROVISIONS of The Standard Specifications the Special Provisions prevail therefore use the quantity shown in the Special Provisions based on the figures shown on Q-1, any changes will be made in accordance with Section 4-1.03.
