BIDDER'S INQUIRY FORMAT


Caltrans District 11 Construction Department has developed this method of answering Bidder's Inquiries to better serve the needs of the Contractors who bid on our Projects. Only when stated in the Special Provisions will contracts have posted INQUIRIES AND RESPONSES.
The BIDDER'S INQUIRIES & RESPONSES will be updated continuously with the last posting no later than 15:00 on Wednesday prior to the bid opening.
Caltrans District 11 Construction Department will post all of the questions submitted by any of the contractors that are registered Planholders for that Contract, but reserves the right to not answer any questions deemed unsatisfactory for public viewing.

Reference = Drainage Systems 7 through 18, and 20 through 37 
Is k-rail required for the construction of DS 7 - 18, and DS 20 -37. Please clarify.

In accordance with Section 5-1.04 PUBLIC SAFETY of the Special Provisions per the requirements of Section A. Excavations: If option 1 to use steel sheets or concrete covers cannot be utilized than k-rail is required for the construction of drainage systems within the median of Route 805. Furthermore the cost of k-rail and temporary crash cushions shall be considered as included in the cost of the items.

The unit of measure is listed as KG. Should the units actually be square meters?

The Special Provisions includes sprinkler control crossovers included in the item but none are shown in plans. Are there existing sprinkler control crossovers to be extended?

None are required per the contract.

The Special Provisions requires plastic pipe (PR315) (supply line) and the plans show GSP. Which pipe is required?

Plastic pipe (PR315) (supply line) is required per the Special Provisions.
