Plan Sheet / Specification Reference= Bid Item 13 - Temporary Railing (Type K)

Question= The State has included a NEW Stadard Plan NSP T3A (Page 33 of the plans) which requires the contractor to install 2 each capped stakes on every segment of K-Rail due to the excavation being within 3" to 24" of the location of the proposed K-Rail.  Since the K-rail will be setting upon exisintg AC Pavement the stakes will have to be driven or drilled into the AC Pavement.  Upon removal of the Stakes and K-Rail, what is the contractor required to do to repair the holes in the existing ac since the plans do not call for replacement and instead only slurry seal?

  • Per Section 12-4.01 "Measurement and Payment" of the Standard Specifications, "The contract price paid per linear foot for temporary railing (Type K) shall include full compensation for furnishing all labor, materials (including reinforcement, Type P marker panels and reflectors), tool, equipment and incidentals, and for replacing, and removing the temporary railing, including excavation and backfill, drilling holes and bonding threaded rods or dowels when required, removing threaded rods or dowels and filling the drilled holes with mortar..."  Please bid per the current contract documents.
