Caltrans District 11 Construction Department has developed this method of answering Bidder's Inquiries to better serve the needs of the Contractors who bid on our Projects. Caltrans District 11 Construction Department will post all of the questions submitted by any of the contractors that are registered Planholders for that Contract, but reserves the right to not answer any questions deemed unsatisfactory for public viewing.
The BIDDER'S INQUIRIES & RESPONSES will be updated continuously and all attempts will be made to do the final posting by 15:00 on the day prior to the bid opening.

Plan Sheet / Specification Reference= Sheet L-1


Question= Legend Concrete Textured Paving shows little squares. But in spec section it calls for exposed aggregate conc w-dark gray color. Is this the texture or do they wanted it stamped also? If so what pattern?

  • The symbol on sheet L-1 is graphic only to differentiate between paving types. The concrete is not stamped, but is exposed aggregate with dark gray color per section 10-1.40 "MINOR CONCRETE (TEXTURED PAVING)" of the special provisions.

Plan Sheet / Specification Reference= Section 12-9.01 Portland Cement Plaster


Question= Is the use of a bonding compound and 2-coats of Portland Cement Plaster acceptable for application on the exterior CMU walls? If not, what form of attachment for the lath to the CMU's is preferred?
