Plan Sheet / Specification Reference= Spec Prov Section 10-1.15 Impact
Attenuator Vehicle.

Question= It appears the use of an Impact Attenuator Vehicle is now
becoming a standard requirement for traffic control systems.  Is this
correct?
Will Impact Attenuator Vehicle be required on this project for only the
freeway lane closures, or will  it also be required when just closing
the ramp to install concrete ped ramps?

  • The Impact Attenuator Vehicle is a requirement for this project. It is not a standard requirement for traffic control systems.
  • Section 10-1.15 of the Special Provisions specifies that the Impact Attenuator Vehicle is used for the following work: " Work includes protecting traffic and workers by using impact attenuator vehicle as a shadow vehicle when placing and removing components of a traffic control system, and when performing a moving lane closure."
